What Data We Collect
We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it by:
- Contact form: name, email address, subject, and message.
- Volunteer form: first and last name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, volunteer interests, availability, notes, and communication consent.
- Endorsement form: name, email address, phone number (optional), city, public display name (optional), title or organization (optional), endorsement statement, and consent to publish.
- Automatically: server logs, IP addresses, browser type, and referring page — standard information collected by web hosting and security systems.
Why We Collect It
- Contact submissions are used to respond to your inquiry.
- Volunteer submissions are used to coordinate campaign activities and respond to your interest in helping.
- Endorsement submissions are reviewed by the campaign. If approved and you have given consent, your display name, city, title, and endorsement statement may be published on this website and in campaign materials. Your private contact details are never published.
- Log data is used to maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical issues.
Endorsement Review and Publication
All endorsement submissions are reviewed by the campaign before publication. A submission will only appear publicly if (a) it has been approved by the campaign, and (b) you checked the consent box indicating you agree to publication. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us — we will remove your published endorsement within a reasonable period.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with the following service providers who help us operate the site:
- Vercel — website hosting and deployment.
- Resend — transactional email delivery for form notifications.
- Supabase — form submission storage and database.
- Google Workspace — campaign email and communications.
- Cloudflare (if applicable) — DNS management and security.
We may also share information as required by law, including reporting to the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission (PDC).
Data Retention
Contact and volunteer submissions are retained for the duration of the campaign and for a reasonable period afterward to allow for follow-up and compliance purposes. Endorsement records are retained for the duration of the campaign. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).
Your Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also withdraw endorsement consent at any time. Send requests to info@votedarci.org with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Cookies and Analytics
This website does not currently use tracking cookies, advertising networks, or third-party analytics services. Standard session and security cookies may be used to maintain site functionality. If analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated.
Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Access to campaign data systems requires authentication and is limited to authorized campaign staff. We use reputable vendors with industry-standard security practices. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a data breach we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
